Decontamination of water from buffer tank in dairy
PROBLEM:
A dairy uses a dairy tank as a buffer tank for cooling water. The water in the tank has a critical temperature for bacterial growth as it is measured at 20-25°C.
SOLUTION:
The buffer tank has specially built UVC equipment installed, which can withstand both pressure and installation under water. A correctly dimensioned UVC installation ensures that the water does not exceed the permitted total germination level. This avoids contamination of equipment and the water can be used as rinsing water.
RESULT:
Recycling water from the buffer tank is now possible without the risk of contamination and thus savings are achieved on both the economy and the environment.
