High germ levels on packaging
PROBLEM:
A Danish dairy customer experiences in between too high germ levels on lids and cups, which can lead to costly deterioration of the end product.
SOLUTION:
We have extensive knowledge of dosing UVC to eliminate a given bacterium or yeast and mould. When the calculation is based on a large number of factors such as temperature, speed and distance, we know exactly how high UVC intensity must be installed to guarantee the dairy’s requirements – e.g. a log1 reduction.
We therefore offered the dairy the pipes and equipment that can be installed in their existing production, and which meet the dairy’s desired reduction of germ levels. The installation was offered on a “No Cure No Pay” basis with the condition that the customer bought the installation if the desired results were achieved. UVC was then installed on the equipment, the results were extremely satisfactory and several installations have since been added.
RESULT:
Safer production, less risk of contamination and thus less risk of bad products or recalls, which in the end is a major cost for the dairy.
