PROBLEM:<\/h3>\n

We often contact companies in the fruit and vegetable industry, as we know that we can make a huge difference regarding the company\u2019s challenges with mould and ethylene. Many companies budget for extra waste, cleaning and working hours because the challenges are so well known that they are experienced as \u201cpart of everyday life\u201d. They also know that there can be seasonal fluctuations in mould and dust particles in the air, so they must do extra cleaning during those periods.
\nOf course, we are aware that wholesale warehouses and fruit & vegetable storage facilities are not identical. Some have only cold rooms, others have both dry goods and cold rooms, and others have many different types of fruit in the same storage facility. The facilities are also physically very different. There can be massive differences between clean and unclean zones, the number of open and closed internal and external doors, and whether they have associated waste rooms. However, the issues are still similar and can be narrowed down to:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Are there particles in the air?
\n\u2022 Is there mould in the air, or both?
\n\u2022 Is there ethylene in the air?<\/p>\n<\/div>

SOLUTION:<\/h3>\n

Our preliminary study, which we carry out free of charge, often shows that air is the challenge, and it is easily improved with, for example, ionisation. Ionisation cleans the air without chemicals and is easy to install in existing systems, and it cleans the air 24\/7. Once FHS Scandinavia has completed a preliminary study, such as air sampling and particle measurements, we can suggest a specific solution.
\nFHS Scandinavia, together with our supplier, www.airgenic.com, has built up extensive experience in installing systems in Fruit and Vegetable storage facilities. We have also installed equipment at carrot and onion producers, for example.<\/p>\n<\/div>

After installing ionisation, the companies (the Fruit and Vegetable storage facilities) find a reduced need for washing and cleaning, as well as reducing seasonal fluctuations, while at the same time giving the products a longer shelf life and so reducing food waste. An excellent investment for both the company and society.<\/p>\n

The best proof of the equipment\u2019s efficiency is the customers who have had the equipment for more than 15 years. They have the equipment serviced and inspected annually in accordance with their service agreement, which ensures that the system works optimally. Once the company has experienced the benefits they achieve, it is a very profitable investment for the company\u2019s finances and society in terms of less food waste.
